See, that's why I'm in the Rachel camp in the HOY debate, and it's strangely apt here, since you're basically saying that being awesome at one thing (beating boys in the Classic) should trump being a terror in everything defensively (being a terror all year long).

That's why it's a toss-up. You care about a guy playing in New York being the best shutdown corner in the league. I don't particularly care for whom you root when trying to figure out which guy I think is deserving. I see the argument for both, but your absolutism is so off-putting I'm learning to love Woodson and his Packer Green all over again...and by all over again, I mean for the very first time, I since I kind of hate him considering he's on the Packers.
Yeah that's an apt comparison. Because Revis only did one remarkable thing once, just like Zenyatta. Woodson's hardly a "terror" in anything, sorry to break it to you. He's pretty good at a bunch of things. He's not great at anything. I've already said everything I can say. Come back to me when Revis falls down on a touchdown and gives up 15 yards of field position with 10 seconds left and the other team straddling field goal range. I already said Woodson had a good year. Not as good as Revis's.

Well, we'll call it even.

You come back to me when you're done pretending that having a wide receiver run into you and knocking you down is the same as "falling down."

You can knock my analysis of it all you want. What you're unfortunately unable to say is that you're being fair in your analysis. "Falls down."

LOLZ. You're incredible. Aka, a Jets fan.

Dude, you're looking at the wrong play. I'm talking about the first Fitzgerald TD that made it 31-10. Woodson fell down.

Ok, so you're willing to knock that one off Woodson's bill then, I'd assume?

Though sorry, I just looked at the other one too, realizing which one you're talking about -- like it's really that much better? Less pummeling, a bit less of the freight train-ing.....good call, that one proved your point. Total epiphany here.

You win.

I've yet to see Revis get blown up by a receiver like that on a TD. Woodson didn't exactly put up a fight. But this is getting ridiculous.

Sorry, I edited while you were trying to say that something of a slightly more minor, less bulldozer-style, running over of a corner was somehow an indictment of that corner's ability. You got me.

The hell outta here. Fitzgerald didn't do anything to Woodson on the first TD. Woodson stepped in front of him and flopped to get a flag like a bitch. Then when he finally got up and saw he didn't get one, Fitzgerald had already torched his ass by 20 yards. The kinda play that happens when you allow a team to score 51 points.

Yea, I'd say that if I was upset too.

Seriously, I would. Which is why I totally get all of this.

I'm not upset baby boy, the Jets are still playing while the Packers' D is icing its collective butthole. But trying to defend Woodson's play on Sunday is laughable.

Well, two problems with this.

Wait, three.

One, I don't care if the Jets or Packers are playing, I have no interest in either of them.

Two, too bad for you that Sunday doesn't count for Defensive Player of the Year.

Three, let's see, a receiver ran into him twice for two touchdowns...that will really kill lots of corners. Wide Receivers aren't big guys, but I'm sure most corners would agree that a WR could run them over if they weren't expecting it...you know, since it's not technically allowed.

Not excusing Woodson's play on Sunday. Excusing your bogus attempts to pin two WR bulldozer touchdowns on him.

That's the problem here, is that I have no dog in this fight, so to speak, and don't have to rely on hating someone to watch a play rationally...

Though thanks for the "baby boy," that's awfully affectionate, and I appreciate warmth.

I don't hate Woodson. I just saw a lot of things "happen" to him on Sunday that I've never seen happen to Revis. If it's that easy to push you over and score two TDs, I can't call you a "terror," sorry, LOL.

Dude if YOU AND I were playing a game in which it wasn't legal for me to just run into you whenever I wanted, I'd imagine you wouldn't expect it....and though you've got a distinct bulk advantage on me (based on my recollection of our meeting a couple months ago), I'm pretty sure even I could knock you over if you didn't think it was coming, since you didn't think it was legal for me to do.

I'm glad though, that we're now getting to the real arguments, like, "if you fall over easily when a guy 15 lbs heavier than you runs into you, you're obviously no terror." They really get the job done.

For me.

As opposed to "I could run you over too!"

I told you this was getting ridiculous.

Sure is. Because you're a homer who can't see that there is even a possibility that Woodson deserved this for having a better year.

And for continuing to point out that Woodson got scorched on a play, and when I point it out, you say "no I meant the OTHER time Fitzgerald ran him over!!!!!!1!11!!1!"

I told you I'm done. Let it go.

Woodson's a terror who gets run over on two TDs and almost costs his team the game in the final seconds in a playoff game.

FTEFY -- fixed that edit for you.

There's nothing to let go, since I don't particularly care about the award, Joey. As I said earlier, I'd have had no problem with it going to Revis, if that's what the voters cared about. They don't. I see the arguments for both. But the "oh god, I'm fainting, this is too much to handle, I can't believe this, where are my smelling salts!!!!" stuff and LOLcat-style pictures of Woodson to denigrate the great season he had is over the top.

I am going to interject this completely impartial fan's take on the situation. Lets really look closely at the respective schedules of each team. The only teams on Green Bay's schedule that could remotely throw the ball were Pitt, cin, min twice, dallas and zona. The rest of the games were against teams with issues in the passsing game I.E TB, chi, detroit, St louis (kyle boller!), bal, cle.

Pitt lit them up through the air. So did Minnesota twice and you see what Zona just did. Of course, Woodson isnt the entire defense but you are really going to give the award of defensive MVP to a guy who's defense gets trashed for 51 points in a playoff game? Really??

Because of my bet with Sniper I watched an inordinate amount of GB games this year. I watched the Jets play a few times as well. To me, there really was no question as to who was the better player. Revis changes the way an offense plays. He takes away a side of the field. He makes the QB do things he is not comfortable doing such as throwing to secondary targets...on every play. He will never create as many turnovers because the ball isnt going anywhere near his direction.

Cool Sporting news name woodson defensive player of the year!

Yo Kanyestupid! Sporting news voted woodson defensive player of the year. So get off your revis high horse. Also the award is for the whole year not for one game in the playoffs! Stop talking and face the facts woodson is defensive player of the year and the jets will crash and burn this weekend!
