Beating White Holiday and any of the other stiffs in that race today at Delaware is not a feather in Nicanor's cap. The thing is, he proved he was a good horse with a couple of good efforts at Gulfstream and the huge turf debut. I just don't see how anyone could have watched his race today and become any more certain that he's a graded stakes caliber horse.

I think it was a solid race...he set a legitimate pace while stretching out, and I think had more in reserve if Napravnik had needed to go to it. He wasn't all out today. She shook him up at the top of the stretch, he quickened, and then she just hand rode him to the wire with something left in the tank. I think he got what he needed to out of the race and look for him to be even fitter coming out of this race.

Meh. It was a public workout. That field was absolutely abysmal.

This was much more entertaining...

I'm thinking POTN would absolutely inhale him at the top of the stretch, in a move similiar to Michael Irvin and his pocket contents.

I think he's as much a bet against when he steps up to stakes calibur horses as he was in his debut, although he won't be favored.

Just give him a little Air Power. He'll be fine.

Yeah I liked it. I thought he looked like he's maturing nicely when I watched him after the finish. I like that the Youtube clip doesn't just show the race and that's it. In the stretch, he looked to me like if there was a need, he could've kicked in a bit more. What are Rosie's prospects of staying on him should he make the VA Derby? I know she hasn't lost on him, but that doesn't always mean you stay on right?

ETA: I should say I'm not anti-Rosie. I just see bigger races lead to jockey changes sometimes. Since she's the only one who's actually won on him, I'd say it's grounds to let her keep going. She won the Maryland Million right? Nic might get her some more attention.
