BACK BACK broke best. Led for about half a furlong. Charlie's Moment then runs by him. Backback couldn't match him going 22.56, and 45.10. Bejarano is all over BACK BACK EARLY ON THE TURN, BUT CAN'T EVEN GO IN 45.10..Show me where those 2 ever go head n' head in that race. They don't, and they went slow. It was like a race on Pro Ride. Canonize may have wanted a quicker pace to run into. Who knows. Ellis horses are crap in stakes right now. Hard to say. Lot of horses not runing well on this main right now. You have to notice when a horse like BACKBACK runs huge in the Henson, and then can't go in 45.10 today....Carryover....To me, that Barrera Stakes looked like one animal handled the track. The 2nd place horse tolerated it. The others hated it. I see a big difference between this track right now, and the track the first couple weeks of the meet. Look at the 6th race. The winner is totally exhausted, but nobody else is handling the track either.

Going back to the place of one of her perfect trips. Good idea. Is BEL guaranteeing an inside post?

Being that she is already stabled at Belmont the only surprising thing is that he even entered her at Hollywood.

An essentially :45 flat 1/2 mile fraction for a 7f race?

As far as Backbackbackgone is concerned, he has never been on the lead in a main track race with a 1/4 mile equal to or faster than the one he saw today. Nonetheless, he stayed within a 1/2 length of the winner down the backside and even made a bid at him before the far turn. He's never looked like a horse that wants anything to do with 7f (or other quality speed for that matter), my guess is that Pete Miller had no other options than to run here aside from tackling his elders.

Ain't playing that track until more than 1 or 2 horses a race look like they can handle the track. This is the problem with synthetic tracks out here. It's not a front or back bias. It's not a outside/inside bias. It's a case of horses not being able to handle the surface. I don't know why Zensational scratched. Maybe they brought him across town, and he said "no" to that track. From the start of this meet until about say 2 weeks ago, this track was just fine. I remember myself n' Philski saying it was like the old HWD dirt course. I don't know what they did, but it's looking more n' more like the inconsistent Pro-Ride across town. The type of horses who start winning are the very average(but consistent) horses that can handle a track that the majority don't handle. That's what won the Barrera. Just a mediocre horse who couldhandle a track that the others couldn't handle.

I don't buy this. It's always something with you: someone is juicing, someone is pulling, etc. This track is fine. They should all play this consistently --- and by this I mean fairly. You want something to really bitch about, as in a VERY DIFFICULT track to beat? Try Woodbine.

Anyone want to guess which horse in the Laz Barrera had the 2nd most lifetime earnings, was one of only two horses with multiple stakes victories on its resume, the only one to have won a route stakes, the only one to have defeated a Grade 1 winner (Norfolk winner Street Hero), and also owned the fastest Beyer number (in a sprint no less) in the field?

Yep, you guessed it...the only one who could handle the track (so long as you turn a blind eye to his previous 0 for 3 record over the course).

Can I take a stab at it?

Im glad the East is making big money
off Hollywood. There have been some
very, very good prices.

Especially in the lesser races.
Congrats to all.

Actually Hollywood is the only synthetic track I play with any regularity as it is the most formful.

It was until a couple weeks ago. The first month of the meet was great.

Per TVG Ventura bruised a hoof, and for Zensational, Baffert is contemplating the Woody Stevens.
