Apparantly it's impossible to time new turf courses correctly. Ya know, the whole art of timing has changed SO much over the last few centuries. Flat screens are, however, getting cheaper by the day.

... can you really be sure that Jan isn't "knocking" Tom?

Hey ... I love 'em both ... they're the best at what they do ... and they've made my life a slightly better one. Gonna miss Jan a lot when the NYRA loses the franchise. What'll happen to all those outfits ... especially the hats?

Wait ... is there an e-bay auction in her future?

With all the turf sprints being run in NY these days I wish someone would tell Tom that 21 4/5 is not only not " blazing ", it's not even fast. Can anyone say " runup ".
Someone else mentioned it recently so I started paying attention, and it's true. He doesn't seem to know how to judge the pace. They're always "blazing away" on the front end, forgeting that that is what sprinters are supposed to do at Belmont. What is the alternative for sprinters, a sensible or dawdling pace on the front end?

Jan is the best at what she does?

She provides NOTHING save senseless rereading of the past performances...in improper English.

Now, excuse me, but I have to go out for a run. I will be running, yup...you guessed it, a mile and A eighth.

No matter what else Tom Durkin says or does ...

.. he's a huge improvement over Dave Johnson and his phony " ... and down the stretch they come !!!"

Hey, Dave ... where else would you expect them to go ... back up the chute?

But that's exactly what she's supposed to do ... misread the results ... slur horses' names ... and miss all her cues ... all for our entertainment. What a trouper!

Jan mangles English better than anyone since Dwight Eisenhower ...

... and look where he wound up.

i can't stand his calls due to that one sentence. one race there was a ton of action from the far turn thru the stretch. but he just HAD to stop calling what was going on so he could put in his stupid tag line. cripes.

True.

Don't forget....discuss scratched horses and handicap the previous race ( and shockingly...still have nothing to add ).

The only thing missing is the seltzer bottle ( and perhaps exploding shoes ).
