I think we are really related, dude. That sounds exactly like something I would say. Good luck to ya partner, I have been there too often myself, w/ a lot of my own doing, but I just keep on keepin on and always land on my feet. I have a feeling you'll do the same.

Kevin in Saratoga = Gander's marriage has less than 3 months at best.

But I'd love to have Kevin up here.

Kevin- I guess this means you will now be able to come up a few days earlier than planned and make opening day at Saratoga?

Wont cost you a penny more, you have places to stay, you know that. I have all the days off from work. Let me know

3 months my ass....3 weeks and we would be too broke to even pay attention. This really puts a damper on my summer plans with everyone. I can't go into a new job telling them when I can't work right away.

Well I liked 4 horses yesterday and didnt play one of them:
Tuwani, Little Buttercup, King Glacken and In Certain Cirlces. They all ran off the board. I got that going for me.

See me, I know I'm in trouble. The FIRST thing Stacey said as we were leaving Colonial Downs on Saturday was "When can we come back."
I couldn't get on my knees and propose fast enough...lol

Hey Kevin you remember Screech from that show Saved By The Bell? Well, they are going to foreclose on his home if he does not come up with some cash so he is now selling a shirt that says on the front Screech holding a sign saying "Save My House". On the back it says "I paid $15 to save Screech's House".

Ok so here is my idea - Kevin come up with a shirt, say "Help me make my living betting the horses" Hell I don't know but you get my drift.

here is a link, hope is brings a laugh on a bummer day

Thanks to the offers from everyone. I know they are heart felt and if I need to take anyone up on them, I will comfortable doing so. Also, thanks to everyones thoughts and prayers. Needless to say, I have experienced a wide variety of emotions this morning.

I have been in the golf business for 17 years in the southeastern VA/northeastern NC area. I feel confident that I have forged a solid reputation in my line of work. I will dearly miss living at the beach, but things happen. Almost 1 year ago I was laying in the middle of a field for dead, but I survived that and this will be a piece of cake compared to that. GPK will bounce back.

Get your ass up here. Tim or I will pick you up at the airport, its no biggie. Screw it, you loved it here when you visited. No doubt a local course here would hire you, 3-4 month gig while you make new plans for the future. Then theres the track, lol, as an additional hook. Scram out of there.

kev, I hope this means you'll be spending slightly more time up at Colonial during the meet? There is always an upside to everything, like seeing awesome turf racing more often.

Don't worry, another job always comes along. Whatever you do, don't take an office job. Some pay great, but they are crap compared to working outside. If you are the guy with the bad back you should consider moving into the golf course maintenace jobs. My friend's father took care of a course in NY his entire life and he loved it and was doing it in his 70's. Don't know what they pay is, but it seemed like a great life.
