The Eclipse Awards are based on your North American accomplishments so shouldn't factor in money earned overseas. |

For most of the year they had Electrocutionist listed as the number one money earner. Then one day he just vanished from the list. North American races should be used as the basis on money and I completely disagree with using the UAE Derby in counting Derby earnings. The third place finisher in that race earns 200 grand I believe. I suppose they wanna appease the Sheikhs who spend so much cash on horses and make sure their best Derby horses are eligible to run. But it seems really unfair to allow them to just kick up a lotta cash for a race and keep their horses eligible on this basis. They need only prep one time and hit the board at their home track in orde to stay eligible. Using Dubai earnings in money earned stats for trainers, jocks, and horses seems fundamentally flawed. Equibase doesn't do it, and it is their stats that are recognized by the industry as far as record keeping goes. |

I agree, I see no way that Johnny V will get it. His injuries have made him inconsistant and not nearly the same form he used to be. Is Pletcher using Gomez on his horses a lot now? |
