Scuds,
You bring up an interesting point about the 2 complimenting each other nicely. A couple of years ago when the Marlins won the World Series, they had Juan Pierre hitting leadoff, and Luis Castillo hitting #2. They're both great base stealers and both can hit for average. So I actually thought Luis Castillo in those years was mis-used being in the #2 hole. He does a good job hitting, and chopping balls to move guys up on base. As a Twins fan I got to see that first hand. But you're mis-using another guy who can steal so many bases by putting him right behind Pierre.

It seems like now with Furcal and Pierre it could be part 2 for that. I'm not sure who you would bat lead-off. Pierre seems the more pure Lead-off guy to me, but it is a close call. But what I'm getting at, is whoever you choose to bat lead-off. Why not move the other guy down to like 7th in the order? A guy in the 7 hole doesn't have to be a run producer in my eyes. That's what 3-6 are for. That way you can get a bonafied decent hitter and baserunner at the bottom of your order.

Furcal deserves to lead off.He has a better on base % because he gets on with both hits n' walks. He seems to take 2nd with ease(one of the most professional base stealers ever....I mean the guy can certainly read a pitcher's move.)Then you have a guy like Pierre slashing the ball for a run -scoring single,or an infield hit. Then you bring up someone to power both runs in,or sacrifice fly Furcal home. This team performs best when Furcal is getting across that plate (manufactured runs.)

They can do all they want on the offense, but the Dodgers won't get very far with dung like Sealy n' Tomko protecting leads. The 3rd game they lost to the Mets in the playoffs was an obvious example of it.Halos already did a signing to help themselves with that, and the Dodgers are (on the other hand) in denial about it.If I see Tomko wearing a Dodger uniform anymore,I will have to start getting cheap used Televisions, because I am gunna be throwing bricks at that guy all season.Go f'n draw n' paint. You can't pitch.

Pierre as an RBI man, now THAT is a novel idea!!! Only kidding. He can bunt well though.
