I agree it took him too damn long to give up control. I am not sure it's going to be that long of a rebuilding process either. A ton of the problem with this team was lack of production at the QB position. Yes they need more pieces, let's see what they do tomorrow as the free agency mayhem begins. They're gonna make a splash at WR i can almost gurantee that. The team has talent they need to resign London, the got excellent production from Kerrigan he'll get better. I would say though if they are not a playoff contender in 2 years then both Shannahan's will be toast! I think they may be a contender by then, I have to be optimistic we all are too damn tired of losing we can agree on that!

Isn't that what the problem is, he's always trying to make a splash? He made a splash with the trade. So are you saying now that he's going to throw a ton of cash and overpay on a target for RG3? How about suring up the offensive line and starting from there.

TO is available and I am sure Snyder could snatch Ochocinco with a few more draft picks.

This trade is an investment in a franchise QB, that's gonna cost in today's market. They have cap room to address other needs as well. Such as WR and OL in terms of the line I think they like some of the guys they are bringing back Will Montgomery, Mo Hurt, you hope Trent Williams gets his head outta the green cloud he's got talent if they stay healthy with Chris Chester I think the line could be productive. Of course we need depth, but they seem pretty high on the guys who are returning. Look we cannot change the past, have they overpaid for players who didn't work out yes, but I think this time they are putting better and younger talent in place. I think they are building a soon to be playoff contender. May take a couple seasons, but I think they are on the right track.

Not sure of the exact ramifications, but from Adam Schefter on Twitter.

NFL is taking away millions of dolllar of salary-cap space from Cowboys and Redskins for how they front-loaded deals during uncapped year.

Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.

Thanks Math. I am hearing on Twitter that the contracts in question are Fat Albert and D-Hall and for Dallas Miles Austin, the NFL saying the abuse is too obvious. Fat Albert still haunting the Skins! POS!

To this day, the most successful NFL QB from the Big 12 is Vince Young. Vince Young was also a Heisman winner. Not to mention a National Champion winning QB who was evaluted higher coming into the draft than RG3.

I would not trade 3 high 1st round picks and a high 2nd rounder just to move up 4 spots so I can draft the next Vince Young.
Sam Bradford would be on the list if it were through 2012

A somewhat washed up mediocrity like Carson Palmer commanded two first round picks. Look at what the bears traded for cutler.

I am of the opinion that QB is the most important position on the field by far and if you see "the guy" you do whatever it takes to get him. If RG3 IS what they think, it ends up a steal. If not, they should blame the talent evaluator and not the negotiator.

I think RG is the real deal.
Carson Palmer wasnt traded for 2 1st round picks. He was traded for a 1st rounder and a conditional 1st rounder that is almost assuredly going to be a 2nd rounder instead (The Raiders only give the the 2nd 1st round pick if they go to the AFC Championship game next year). Plus if the Raiders do somehow make the AFC championship the pick wont be better than the 28th selection. The Redskins picks are likely to be much higher selections.

Is RG3 really that much better than other options that they can sacrifice 3 or more likely starters (on rookie contracts and under club control for years) in the coming years? Doubtful.

Pure insanity...plain and simple. How else do you explain it? If there is some sort of "method to the madness", it's lost on me. This kid has maybe a 25% chance of being serviceable, and about 0% chance of being some sort of Tom Brady/Farve/Fill in the blank. And you've dug a hole for at least 5-6 years because when he busts or God forbid suffers a career threatening injury (Sorry, but these things HAVE TO be discussed when making a decision like this), you've got no 1st rd. picks to rebuild for 4 years.

Ole' Danny Boy.... just when you think he can't possibly screw up a team any further, he continues to shock and awe.
