I suppose this is just personal on my part but TP going under would essentially put me out of the sport. I love the sport and usually have two or three lower level horses that I love to have run the KY circuits. I like to go to the barn and also go to their races. But there is no way financially that I can support two or three horses when the purses are like gift certificates to Crackle Barrel...

It really is a shame about Turfway and the state of racing in Kentucky. I actually like Turfway. IMHO it is a fantastic facility when you exclude the racing surface. When I was younger I always had a good time playing the races there.

I disagree with Chuck on the instant gaming machines not helping the purse structure. Sure Kentucky Downs is close to Nashville but it is still a one hour drive and they have made 40 million in the span of 6 months. Turfway making a fraction of that would help curb the purse reductions.

These degenerates will bet on anything. They'll get enough locals in there to play those modified slots.

If that as.shole David Williams wasn't running the Senate like his own little playground in this podunk state we would have a real casino at Turfway and we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I happen to like Turfway too. It's a dump, but a fun dump. The polytrack sucks but it's a great place to go drink beer and chase some longshots.
