![]() I suppose this is just personal on my part but TP going under would essentially put me out of the sport. I love the sport and usually have two or three lower level horses that I love to have run the KY circuits. I like to go to the barn and also go to their races. But there is no way financially that I can support two or three horses when the purses are like gift certificates to Crackle Barrel...

![]() It really is a shame about Turfway and the state of racing in Kentucky. I actually like Turfway. IMHO it is a fantastic facility when you exclude the racing surface. When I was younger I always had a good time playing the races there.
I disagree with Chuck on the instant gaming machines not helping the purse structure. Sure Kentucky Downs is close to Nashville but it is still a one hour drive and they have made 40 million in the span of 6 months. Turfway making a fraction of that would help curb the purse reductions. These degenerates will bet on anything. They'll get enough locals in there to play those modified slots. |
