I guess it wasn't disappointing to his consigners, though, since that is not a high reserve for this kind of pedigree. They were probably thrilled to get even that much for him. I just read that a Mr. Greeley went for $5.7 million!

Did the Mineshaft/Gold Mover sell yet? Thanks!

What did the half to Vindication look like? Looks like the colt only went for $235,000?

I've always heard four white feet means your horse is pretty crazy. Untrainable would probably be the word.

$950,00 for Mineshaft 1/2 brother to Jazil.

I'm pretty darn happy with that.......that's a pretty nice price for a first crop sire. I really can't wait for the Dear Birdie colt to sell.......

Do the Farms sometimes double breed back to back stallion/mare hoping the first outcome runs good at 2 and makes next years foal even more expensive?

A lot of the times they do, especially the Storm Cat's since he will be pensioned soon. Although in the case of Smarty Jones' dam, I'll Get Along, they end up skipping a year breeding to Elusive Quality because they had no idea what they got the first time.

Just for those of you wondering about white feet. It has nothing to do with temperment. For some reason, white feet tend to be much more sensitive. I know of a certain horse who has set the Saratoga track record for 5f on the turf three times in the last two years who can't run more than a few times a year becasue of this condition. He requires long breaks to allow the feet to heal. If it weren't for his feet, he'd likely have won a bunch more races.
