![]() Discreet Cat will not run in the Classic. I truly believe he wont even run in any Breeders Cup races. As far as who is better between Discreet Cat and Bernardini...well we will probably never know. Frankly, I really do not care. Both horses are truly special and very talented. I wish they would race each other, but I dont think we will see that. We may see it in the Dubai World cup--but I doubt it. I think that Discreet Cat is the best miler in the world. There are some races for him in the US at 1 mile where I think he should go.

The Sheik treats all his horses like that if you know there background in there country the horses get to eat before the humans do. So pressing them too soon they have nothing to gain they are not money hungery like most private US owners. Discreet Cat is probally worth 7 - 10 mill I would give him all the time in the world. 1 tick off the track record in hand, 1 start off the layoff he is just a monster and you know when godolphin brings him to the paddock he is ready to run |

![]() To knock either one is folly. They both have established thereselves. The question for me is If they opposed each other, would they be coupled?

By the way, I'm not saying DC might not be as good or better than Bernardini -he might or might not be (because as much room as DC has to improve, Bernardini has as much or more). But maybe Bernardini would blow DC's doors off or maybe there is not much between them. I really don't think they will ever face each other.......Let's just hope the both race next year and we can watch them do some spectacular things. Talents like these don't come around very often. Again, great post, Ateam! |

![]() Discreet Cat has never run around two turns (one-turn 9f in Dubai) and the Breeders' Cup would be a bad place to try it for the first time. Bernardini is for this year and Discreet Cat is (if they can keep him together) for next year.

![]() I think that Discreet Cat is the only horse in the U.S. that could stand a chance against Bernardini. I really love both of these horses, and don't know which one is the better of the two. With that being said, as fragile at DC is, I think it would not be a wise choice to run him in the Classic this year. I would much rather see him in the sprint. I think that they should save DC for the Classic division next year. I just don't think he is going to be ready to go 1 1/4 after two races at a mile or less. I would have rather seen him have a 1 1/8 mile race instead of the Jerome. It would make me feel a little better if they do run him in the Classic. As fragile as he is, running him in the Classic may be just a step too far. I want to see this horse around for awhile. I really don't think he will have a problem going the 1 1/4 miles though.
I just got the sad news about Electrocutionist because I have been a horse show all weekend. That is so sad. We've all taken a hard hit this year with deaths and injuries. I really loved this horse. He was a good one. May he rest in peace. |
