![]() Video of Fly Downs race.
http://www.dubairacenight.com/kreem-...-in-kings-cup/ Unless you know Arabic, the mute button is recommended. Fly Down is #6 and breaks from post 3. He still doesn't change leads in the stretch. |

![]() Hopefully he improves upon his 13th place finish in last years Dubai World Cup.
Great race call by that announcer, by the way. |

![]() There is absolutely no arguing that Fly Down was given an atrocious ride - he should've won with a little more patience. It was stone cold awful. He hit the lead with 5/16ths to go!??
Just a disgraceful ride from Johnny Murtagh. Not as bad as his ride on Soldier of Fortune in the Breeders' Cup Turf from 2008, which I'll argue is one of the worst rides in the history of the Breeders' Cup, but really bad. |

![]() Not saying I understand it, but this guy is newer - the old guy literally yelled and screamed the entire race.

El Amarillista and Shibl Noofa (Amor De Pobre) were sent off as rabbits for Robust Wish, and I think it's pretty difficult to deny that Fly Down was too close to the pace. Because so many horses share common ownership, (there were eight owners of the 18 horses), team tactics are frequently used in racing there. Combine that with the profile of this race in previous years, the wide move is often times the most successful one. In the end, I would've liked to see Fly Down win because of his past in the US, but I can tell you the owner doesn't care, cause he had the top two anyway. That being said, I still think it was a bum ride, especially in light of where the winner came from to win. |

He came outside of one horse on the far turn briefly -- but that was it. It was an excellent ride from a positional standpoint as well. |
