You jet idiots amaze me sanchez is so overrated and brady is in his 2nd year back from the surgery. Is it me or does he look ready to start the season? You have old tomlinson and oh yeah your best player hasn't been on the field all preseason. Question if reavis is the best corner then why don't the jets just pay him is money! Anyone else see martinez fry that secondary. Its so great no one is paying any attention to the pats. Were old blah blah and then some stupid person says we haven't drafted a good defense player in 5 years! Ever heard of mayo stupid! Can't wait for season to start and watch jets crash and burn and pats win divison again! Especially can't wait to december 12 when ill see them in chicago beat another overrated team and horrible quarterback cutler! I actually have bear fans who think cutler will have better stats than brady. I mean really!

let me guess, beating the Falcons on the road in preseason, SUPER SIGNIFICANT. Losing at home to the Rams in preseason, MEANINGLESS!

These weren't subs getting beaten either, Brady and Moss played into the fourth quarter! Despite the close final score, the Rams pretty much dominated the Pats' starters.

First Downs: STL 30 NE 12
Total Plays: STL 84 NE 38
Total Yards: STL 462 NE 288
Rushing Yards: STL 136 NE 28
Time of Possession: STL 43:46 NE 16:14

Tom Brady went 18 for 22 for 273 yards, three touchdowns and no picks - and hit Moss for a long bomb TD.

But yeah, the running game and defense - which looked so promising in the two other preseason games - both sucked horridly tonight.

Rex Ryan talked about how his defenses always played like sh!t in the game after they broke camp in the Hard Knocks episode ... you're right - it was disconcerting ... but the passing game is what matters most..and it was there all day in terms of stats production.

I DVR'd it and will watch the game later....before I offer my no doubt, highly valued take.

OK - I watched it.

That rookie TE out of Arizona - the one who impressed so much with blocking - he's an absolute beast catching the ball as well. He caught two more TD passes in this game .. and dragged the Rams starting middle linebacker about seven yards on one of them.

He's my sleeper for NFL rookie of the year this year. 1.) Because he's awesome. 2.) Because this running game and defense truly isn't worth a sh!t and they will end up in a lot of track meet games. 3.) Because Welker is running like he's fully healthy - and if priority one is to take away Moss on the outside, priority two is to contain Welker in the middle .. this big son of a bitch with a size 16 shoe is going to become the running game by catching a lot of passes.

That was a great draft pick.

I think both rookies on defense certainly lost their starting jobs tonight.

Spikes - the Rams totally exploited him and he's too slow to cover anyone running across the field. He looked great in the first two preseason games against the run and was ok in zone coverage.

The starting CB who they took in the 1st round was also burned badly a couple times in one on one.

Pat Chung is also way too inconsistant.

He is - he's basically been the standout of all three preseason games... the first one more so for his blocking, the third one more so for his pass catching, and the second one for a great combonation of both.

These two rookies on defense that get smoked yesterday ... I can see what they where thinking when they drafted these two. Both players are great fits in a division where the three opposing starting qbs are unproven guys like Sanchez, Henne, and whoever the Bills will start... plus, you get a lot of tough weather conditions where it's hard to throw the ball.

In tough weather, against a hapless opposing qb ... those two starting Pats rookies on defense will be big factors. Spikes is a beast against the run - and that corner is big and tough - can play press well, and can tackle.

However, put those two guys on the field against Peyton Manning in a road game - in a dome stadium with no crowd noise and perfect weather conditions to pass the ball - and Manning will mutilate those two.

I'm not so sure Spikes could even cover me one on one. But hey, I guess that's how a guy who was a 2-time first team all-american and 3-time first team all SEC middle linebacker goes 62nd overall in the draft.
