I think that's only in the Mile races... its 1155 ft to the wire in all other races (or 165 ft longer than Santa Anita)

Rachael will be a no show. There is no way Jackson is going to take on Z without a race under her belt first.I say no way,it's not gonna happen at Oaklawn.

Asmussen likes to give his good horses coming off a layoff of more than 100 days 5-7 works spaced 6-7 days apart before running them in their prep for their main engagement. Assuming everything goes right and Steve works RA seven times with her works six days apart, that puts RA on schedule to make the 3/13 stakes at Fair Grounds. From then, it is 21 days to the Apple Blossom. It may be that RA will go from the FG race to the La Troienne. But regardless, if she doesn't make the FG stakes on 3/13, it is highly unlikely she runs in the Apple Blossom.

believe me, i'm not. i'm real doubtful that a race happens this spring. these horses have not raced once yet. plus, i'm guessing zenyatta won't show unless its at least a mile and an 1/8. in case people have not noticed they are real careful about entering zenyatta. i think they ran her in the breeders cup classic because they felt they had to. the other thing is i think shes back because that race turned out to be so easy for her to win. its clear that she wants a good distance of ground because she only runs for about an eighth of a mile. they will go for a race that they feel she can have an advantage. its definetly not this race. 5 mil is nothing to these people.

Get the Komen foundation involved run a 3 race series July Sept and BC 3 tracks Spa, Belmont, and CD.. Give the purse money to charity and capture a Nations attention.. WWE racing...we will let Zenyatta win the first, Rachel crushes in the second, and wil have them all set up for the Wracing Mania on BC day.. Maybe we could even have Jackson and Moss talk some smack about each other and will get Snoop to write a Rap.. You want TV Ratings?

Big sound and light show in the paddock with The Black Eyed Peas representing Zenyatta and Lady Gaga Rachel Alexandra.

I don't think it will happen, but I reserved seats just in case. It's only a couple of hours away, so I can go over anyway or just eat the cheap tickets.

I don't even want a April 3 race--it would plainly be a rush job. Everybody here knows it, and Asmussen has basically said it already. That is not a true test of anybody, and unnecessarily raises the possibility of injuries that might not otherwise happen. The recriminations will be all over the place if something bad happens on April 3.

Get it done right.

How about if we get Mike Smith to crack the whip across Borel's head and knock his teeth out of his mouth down the lane..I can hear Durkin now.." OH MY Rachel lost a shoe...No actually that's Calvins denture"

The whole ridiculous point of these whacko posts is that racing needs to start to entertain again if it wishes to succeed long term and grow. You can't count on the horses anymore and frankly I doubt the horses were ever as important as the shear reality that people had very little option in the past to gamble other then the racetrack. Now with the advent of legalized gambling, with lottery's, casinos(abound), fantasy leagues/office pools on the NFL, and just about anything else you can think of, racing needs to reinvent itself and start to entertain people and compete.

OR

Welcome to Slot Trail...You ship your horses to the newest slot racino have them race there for solid money at nowhere tracks that nobody could give to craps about and nobody looks at horses or racing for anything other then a means to slots.. till the well runs dry and its time to ship to the next stupid slot track..

Churchill doesn't get it. REO Speedwagon is not going to bring in the numbers. You need current horrible artists like Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift.
