This race appears very interesting and competitive.

#1 - decent pedigree and ok works on poly but probably won't fire first out and will be better down the road

#2 - SERIOUS works from a trainer w/ a good FTS ROI, but I'm not crazy about the fact that he's a Giant's Causeway. Dam was ok.

#3 - has run well in both starts w/ some trouble

#4 - These are the types that Albertrani is dangerous with. Nondescript works and mediocre pedigree (sold for a lot, though), but it may be hard to gauge this one's ability from the PPs alone.

#5 - Already been discussed - best to wait w/ him. Incredible pedigree obviously. . .

#6 - $1M purchase trained by KMc - bullet works, too. Has to be respected at what might be underlaid odds.

#7 - Another third time starter who has run creditably. Notice winner of debut.

#8 - Not sure what to make of this one - probably not much

#9 - Zito w/ a Birdstone that sold for a lot. Decent works, too, but I'd be inclined to wait on him.

#10 - Contender off of the debut

#11 - Another obvious contender

Do you have Mineshaft's second lifetime start numbers handy? If I remember correctly they're staggeringly high. . .

Sounded to me like Shug thought the colt colt needed a race AT LEAST.. I didn't get the feeling he was so impressed with the colt at all..

Also sounded like you could pitch Imperial Council on the cut back and VCauseway.. It sounded like they were reaching for a solution to slow horses..

+1 Istisharry will be underlaid for a first time starter, respect but I would want better odds. I thought Intrepid ran very well in his debut going 3 wide, certainly worked harder than Wanted Alive in that race, I hate to play the favorite but at 3-1, 7-2, he's an attractive favorite.

Three firsters.

The exacta was WAY light considering the win prices. However, it was two firsters and there is no way Kiaran's horse was even money in exotics. That was insane.

The winner opened up as the 5/2 favorite and the Albertrani horse was around 9-1 for most of the betting. . . The late money that flew in on Kiaran's horse really was crazy and I agree that the win odds wouldn't have matched the odds in the exotics.
