I wanted to see Matto Mondo in this race...oh well I am sure he can labor again to a third in the Shoemaker on grass.

I think we could call it a length and a half. But do the math, losses three on the turn, on the rail which was completely dead, loses by length and a half. If he was rolling on the turn he may have won the race.

or maybe not. the best horse won. musket man will win others, but i think the longer distances are what cost him in these last two-that and stiffer competition.

If RA had been able to go the half in 49, she'd have won for fun!

considering how the race unfolded, i thought rachel did just fine. someone wrote that the oaks was her best race, i thought saturday was. she had company throughout, and still prevailed while those who tried to run with her early all faded.

I just said that because of that one guy who keeps going on about Musket Man losing 3 lengths due to trouble, and how that would have enabled him to win.

yeah, i know. i'm surprised i didn't read a lot about MM being six wide in the derby coming 'round the far turn.

but the big shock is how quiet things suddenly got regarding POTN.

Yep.

I was sleeping at the same part of the race that you were, when RA went 46.

I can't believe we're talking about a horse that was beaten handily and had one of the all-time perfect inside-out trips behind a scorching pace, had dead aim with 3/16ths to go and couldn't get up.

I emplore all of you to go back and watch the race in the turn and watch Coa lose all momentum and 3 lengths to boot only to have to rev him back up on a dead rail. I wouldnt call that a dream trip

Yo

Here are a number of options:

1) Go to the Beyers thread and read DrugS comments about the dynamics of the Preakness.

2) Stop following Eric Donovan, when it comes to interpreting races

3) Stop following your friend Gales, when it comes to arguing about trips.

The above in combination

OR

4) Keep thinking that your way is the correct way

I'll take number 2. Guy makes me crazy in the way he almost always says absolutely nothing. And to think he sets the ml odds for NYRA! Andy and Jason play off each other very well.

What exactly are the handicapping skills you have demonstrated here to think you have put yourself in a position of strength to criticize anyone....much less someone like Eric Donovan?

I tell you what, how about you make your own ML, and we'll compare it to Eric's?

Hey fat boy, for your information I follow none of those chumps that claim to be handicappers at nyra, i couldnt even tell you what eric donavan looks like, im more or less a weekend warrior seeing how I have a 9-5 m-f.
And as far as youR #3 comment, I hope you listen to ATR tonight when Coa was on there and said THE SAME EXACT THING AS I DID ABOUT THE HORSES TRIP...DOUCHE. Lost all momentum at the 3/8ths and had to get going again.
My way is right and I would challange anyone to a hanicapping contest on here any day of the week or weekend would be better for me.
