Can't believe I forgot about Affirmatif. Broke his maiden @ 1 mile on the turf at GP earlier this year. It was also his debut.

He is entered Saturday in a stakes race @ Pimlico......

Won @ 1-2. Looked a little green down the stretch. I will continue to watch him as he progresses.

That was good, however what I mean't was he really looked like something special when Shug tried him on turf the first time. Then later that yeat at Gulfsteam he wired a very good field in BC mile setting some extraordinary fractions.

Speaking of PartyManners youtube vids, did anyone mention Smarty Jones, I remember seeing that one posted somewhere. That one deserves a mention.

It was one of the all-time slowest Saratoga debut wins ever.

Loved Red Ransom's too. And Paradise Creek.

Cure The Blues and Private Terms are the two I remember as the most impressive.
Jameela won her maiden race by a neck over another firster named Alto Pride in a stretch duel that would be memorable in any graded stakes race.It was 9 lengths back to the third horse Dress Ship,a Buddy Delp trained niece of Ruffian who was odds on.
What made that race most memorable for me is that I learned how to box exactas after that race.I held a $2 Alto Pride/Jameela exacta worth nothing. It paid close to $600 the way it came.

Discreet Cat's was strong ... but there are many great ones that are very hard to seperate.

Ghostzapper had a great debut win .. I know I sent Kiri's the tape of it for Youtube.

Artie Schiller's and Riskaverse's were two of my favorite turf ones .. but neither were crazy fast.

Badge Of Silver had the best one I've ever seen in the 4.5f Keeneland races. Chilukki from the early season CD 2yo races.

Formal Gold's 112 Beyer is the fastest ever for a debut.

Many of the ones already mentioned had great ones. Tiz Wonderful had a pretty forgotten recent great one.

As for flops..the Pletcher filly Tugger ran a 111 and only managed to win a Grade 3 ... she was a tremendous flop. Straight Man ran a 109 in his debut .. and though he did win a Grade 2 stake and just missed in a Grade 1 beating a last out Breeders Cup Classic winner ... he was certainly a flop.

Riskaverse?

You have to be kidding. Granted, obviously you bet her at 10:1 ( as did I ), but she had a perfect trip up the fence.

I thought her turn of foot was pretty explosive ... turf sprint debut wins are hard to gauge.

Can't remember the name, but the colt (or filly) that set the 4.5 furlong record last year at Keeneland sticks out in my mind. I was impressed by that one.
