I didn't think so either, but when they were showing actual arial shots it was the new GP.

Grandstand Pan was new Gulfstream, turf course looked nice.

On track was indeed Los Alamitos, I think Joy Scott even got a cameo but can't know for sure.

Chantal Sutherland 'interviewed' for the position of the electric jockey but I guess she got denied (Article about it in Horse Society Magazine)

You have to love the real percepttion of horse racing for the non racing fan, and this show played into every one of em

1. Gambling and racing horses is a seedy business, its not quite drugs, but it can lead you to death
2. When a horse makes a late move like that better check the close up pictures for the buzzer (ie, sounds like Funny Cide right, that was true I guess)
3. If a horse runs poorly better check the horse for cocaine, yup in racing horses are drugged not to run well but to run poorly
4. Even when you do find that miracle great horse someone will swindle you out of it
5. When all else fails lets run on fake dirt, just not in Miami

they said it was from IL, but used a made-up name, not Arlington.

HA I thought that too at first...then remembered it was because his owner had been murdered.

What a mess that show was, loved how they arrested the jock for using the buzzer...

I think some writer went to the track for the first time and said oh wow let's write a show about this and I'll make up what I don't know.

You have to understand that we are looking at that show with a much more detailed eye, more educated. People that had no idea about horse racing probably thought it was a great show with all the twists and turns.

Yeah, I know, but it was still laughable. I hardly ever watch CSI anymore they lost me on alot of their details...horses or not.

I do wonder though if CSI Miami in real life has all that high tech equipment, it's like a Gates/Jobs disneyland...and they seem to have everyones dna on file for immediate comparision...

I actually DVR'd last night. I just finished and vow never to watch that show again. It was just awful. They had almost every negative that is linked to the sport involved in this episode. The only thing that was missing was a horse breaking down in the stretch and them bringing out the black sheet. But then again people are going to think that they use bolt guns behind those sheets. I can't say it enough about how terrible it was. Oh yeah and has Caruso always been that bad of an actor? He sucks!
