lol the Gov has some large balls to say the least.

I swear I read something on the fox news ticker yesterday about some big guy with the Tribune filing bankruptcy but that it wouldnt include Wrigley or some field he owns.... didnt know if the two stories were connected.

Chicago is pretty bad ass.

Trib's bankruptcy does not affect the Cubs or Wrigley Field, they weren't included in the filing

And Steve was correct about the SAm Zell part as well.

This day has been coming for a long time as Fitzgerald worked his way through the ranks to get to Blago. I just assumed it would be the more generic influence peddling stuff that they caught the others with. The Senate seat is so brazen and insulting ( and stupid) that the impact of that will be incredible. If he doesn't plead, that will be a hell of a trial

The Gov's wife has some big balls too...

During the call, ROD BLAGOJEVICH’s wife can be heard in the
background telling ROD BLAGOJEVICH to tell Deputy Governor A “to hold up that ****ing Cubs ****. . . **** them.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH asked Deputy Governor A what he thinks of his wife’s idea.

Most amazing thing is that Blago will post bond and still be Governor and WILL be able to make that Senate seat appointment

You don't think the calls for him to resign will take? They're talking of Pat Quinn making the appt.

The thing to love about Illinois politics is that corruption here knows no boundaries of partisanship.
Democrat....Republican.....it doesn't matter one bit. They all end up in prison eventually.
I hope Bush doesn't pardon George Ryan, so that he and Rod can sit in prison together.

The funny thing is that Rod's approval rating was only 13% BEFORE he got arrested. I wonder what it will be now.

Ha-Ha...

Only 1 and they are looking to get him pardoned.
Thing is about Louisiana they all get in trouble but no one ever seems to go to trial...ya know that quick and speedy court system we have here.

Shoot I'm still in disbelief that Jefferson didn't get re-elected..that Rep. with 90K in cold cash in his freezer. He still hasn't gone to trial was supposed to the beginning of this month...but no surprise post-poned again.
All the black ministers...go figure....were proclaiming their support for him!

Huey Long...well he just got assinated...

But my hat is off to Illinois for trying to take our spot as the most corrupt state...Thank you!

Durbin just had a press conference and wants to pass a bill authorizing a special election for that seat. SAid whoever Blago picked would be tainted (duh)..Not a bad idea I think

Yes, indeed. I wish the Chicago Daily News and Mike Royko still existed ...

Edgar ran a tight ship. I didn't like his politics, but respected his governing.

Thompson taught George Ryan everything he knew, except how to not get caught. Why do you think Thompson's law firm gave Ryan a $20 Million defense............for free?

And George Washington (the poster, not prez) is up in arms over the above somewhere right now.
