I, too, got sick very quickly of the Subway SB talk. It's absurd. However..
"Their last three losses".. One was in Week 3, the other was in Week 7. You make it sound as if they just finished a three-game losing streak. The Raider game was a million years ago in terms of how they've progressed.
They had a freaking lousy game against a hot-and-cold Denver team that matched up well against them. Big deal. The Jets' secondary and linebackers (aside from Revis) don't excel in coverage, so the defense relies on pressure. The Broncos have the third-best QB protection unit in the NFL, Cutler was untouched all day and away they go. Of our remaining opponents, only the Dolphins can protect the QB worth a damn, and sorry if I'm not trembling about facing a team that beat the Raiders, Seahawks and Rams by a combined seven points.
The Jet offense also had plenty of opportunities and screwed them up. 2-for-13 on third and fourth down isn't going to cut it.
When Peyton Hillis runs for 100+ on Kris Jenkins you know it's an off day. The "sky is falling" bullshit was exactly what I was arguing against when they got handled by San Diego, and look at what's happened since then. They weren't going to finish the season with ten wins in a row, and though of course I was pissed off on Sunday, if it kicks them in the ass and pushes them harder to finish 3-1 or 4-0, then good.

I definitely made it sound that their last three losses were recent, but in no way did I mean it like that. What I meant to point out, and I did so poorly, that it has come at the hands of teams that good teams should beat blindly. I'm not saying the Jets arent a good team, because they are a very well rounded team, one that always seems to be in position to pull the game out. Thomas Jones has shocked the living $hit out of me, as I thought for sure he was toast/mediocre at best. Lets not even mention Kris Jenkins and his lights out play and how he anchors that defense. I just should have pointed out that it's not definitive that they will be in the playoffs. Alot can happen in these last 4 games, and alot of teams can jump over certain teams and into serious contention.
You wouldn't know by the tone of my previous post, but Im actually pulling for them to come out of the AFC. Either them or the Ravens (for John Harbaugh and Flacco primarily). It could be a bumpy last quarter of the season for each team, but the cream should rise to the top. Hopefully both teams can get there, and once your there, we all know anything can happen.
Best of luck to the Jets and their fans, that is until baseball season comes back around.
