What makes you think Scat Daddy and Stormello are fast enough? Adore the Gold was the best horse in that race.

A different picture when you just look at a mile or more. Interesting who the only horse on there twice is.
He's a nice colt, Sniper... but I think he's going to need to calm down a bit if he plans on winning the derby. I was definitely impressed with him on Saturday.

Edit: I realized how dumb the above sentence sounded... I don't think Ketchikan is planning on anything, but his connections probably are.

then Adore the Gold is not fast enough either because Nobiz, SD, and stormello all ran by him.

Those horses were all way more seasoned at that distance that Adore the Gold. ATG also got the worst post position. We saw the best those other three have to offer and it barely beat ATG despite the circumstances. ATG should move way up next race.

Nobiz had run 9f in the Remsen, but I don't think Stormello or Scat Daddy ever ventured that length til the FOY.

putting blinkers on Nobiz MIGHT turn him into a focused monster.

I should have said seasoned for the distance rather than seasoned at that distance. Stormello had run 3 straight at a mile and a sixteenth and Scat Daddy had run 3 straight at a mile or more.

It might and I think he has more potential of winning the Derby than either Scat Daddy or Stormello.

They probably won't make him faster. It will be interesting to see. He's a good horse, but I have a feeling he may not be as good as some of us were hoping. He's pretty much run 95-100 Beyers like clockwork every start without much variation at all regardless of distance or anything. Maybe he will explode his next start. I'm not so sure however.

And blinkers don't help every horse.

Do you want the list of faster older horses, too? This is the Beyer leaderboard for all distances, but plenty of Triple Crown nominees are so-far faster than Nobiz's 98.
Yes it would have been more appropriate to consider just three yr old routes. which Sniper has done. My point is that there are no breakaway speed merchants on that list that are so far ahead of NoBiz that you can just cast him aside and call him too slow. Some of those numbers I think are a little suspect and will need to be confirmed. He may not win the derby, but No Biz gives hints that he could run even better if he behaves, maybe blinkers will help, but he certainly this year can't be put on the list of being too slow to win the derby as it would take only a very small improvement to put him right in the mix.

Even after Liquidity's nasty performance in the LA Derby?

Well of course....but when a horse appears to have problems focusing - which Nobiz appears to have - they could be helpful.

Liquidity still has time to bounce back.

NoBiz would win The Kentucky Derby if it was sponsored by The Special Olympics.

He's now 2 for 2 in miserable failures when leaving California. He may win the Santa Anita Derby but my money won't be anywhere near him on Derby Day.
