Running down a juiced wobbler who had stumbled at the start and made the first move into a collapsing pace is the greatest performance evar, Phil, don't mistake it.

She looked beat and somehow got up to win, just as Personal Ensign willed her way to victory in the BC, these are the moments that you don't forget as a racefan whether you are a fan of West coast racing or east coast racing. I also thought Vic was right on his game today also, magical stuff.

Now that the (super impressive) win record is in the bag … there's really only one more major goal for Z this season …defending her BCC title.

Forget about this RA … if they want a piece of Z let them come to Cali.

And forget about the subjective HotY award … it has already been cheapened too much over the years with selections like FT and RA.

The real goal now is taking down back-to-back Classics.

First 6-year-old to win the great American race … and the first to do it on different surfaces

That's some SERIOUS stuff right there, kids.

Needless to say, though, it won't be easy … the odds are clearly against her.

But Shirreffs has to keep his eye on the ball now … and do the best that he can to get her to the Downs in the best possible condition...

Great athletes make things happen... Michael Jordan with buzzer beaters, Tiger Woods with big putts etc. This was another example... giving weight, going wide, giving St. Trinians a head start - everything - yet she still got it done. Pretty cool.

Uh no. Great athletes face the best on a consistent basis.

I think I may have jinxed St. Trinians with my premature shout of glee at thinking Zenyatta was finally going to lose. A second later, the outcome seemed never in doubt.

No doubt Smith had to ride her a heck of a lot harder today than he had to in any of her previous several starts.

I know what you're saying, and if this was like every other sport, yeah... but Rocco Mediate is a good not great golfer, and he had Tiger on the ropes, yet Tiger won. Same thing today.

I dont get all the talk about St. Trinians and the way she looks.... How does that make her a 50k claimer? Its well documented she has a ton of problems and can barley walk straight.
