I suppose you get fans who are sports fans who go to big events and maybe you lose them because of the Dodgers (though they are far from a lock)

I hope for the sake of the sport that those fans actually exist but outside of the Triple Crown races I'm kind of skeptical that they do.

They aren't really ever a lock to do anything, but that's why they are so much fun to watch(excluding Cub worshipers Scavs n' Hooves.) What did they do? Lose 8, and then win 8(and 12 of 13.) I never have really been much for going to the B.C. I bet it, but I don't think there is any comparison between going to the B.C., and going to a World Series game. It's like comparing Swiss Chocolate to a Pixie Stick. If they are both on T.V., then they are a lot closer in entertainment value. I'm gunna watch the B.C. until the game starts. Maybe it will be over by the time the game starts. I went to the 1st B.C. (at HWD Park.) It was just o.k. Got into a fight with my dad's friend about what the call should of been on the Classic D.Q. I might have gone to another(not sure.) Doesn't touch my insides like it must do with some other people.

You dont think that ticket prices will stop some from attending the races live?

Parking, General admission, program, racing form and you're down almost 50 bucks with no place to sit. That will keep alot of local players home.

A lot of ifs but if the dodgers and red sox got to the world series and I had a decent breeders cup, I'd pay quite a bit to go to a world series game.. I'd have to bring scavs though with that cubs cap..

Sure enough, Game 3 would be at Chavez Ravine on the night of Day 2 of the Cup. Point being, if the Dodgers are in the Series, how many in Los Angeles will pay much attention to the BC?

NO ONE in So Cal cares much about any sports... No one will care about horse racing, no one will care about the Doyers, no one cares about the Trojans, in fact the only thing these people care about is why they can no longer afford the houses they bought for $850k 3 years ago that are now worth $300k.

Not true Grasshopper. Some of us own our homes, love horse racing and the DOYERS, but some of us are just waiting for the bottom to jump back in for another killing.

Judging their performance over the past 2 games, I don't think there will be a
scheduling conflict

Billygoat, Furcal, and Kemp have all choked. I'm surprised Furcal has been choking, but when that guy bunts it right back to the pitcher, then he is very tight. The other 2, I am used to it by now. When the Dodger starters don't have it, then the game is pretty much over, because Torre isn't gunna take them out until they've completely destroyed the game. He feels that is respect. I think it's stupid, but Lasorda did the same thing. Can't do that tonite. If Kuroda doesn't have it, then he can't wait until he's down by 6. Put Kershaw in, or brother Lurch etc. Better not just sit there if they score 4 in the 1st 2 innings. IT'S CALLED MANAGEMENT. HE PISSED AWAY GAME 2 BY SITTING ON HIS A-S-S UNTIL BILLYGOAT HAD BOTCHED IT LIKE A BAD PLASTIC SURGERY. They paying him 4.5 mil to sit there when I guy obviously can't locate. Get the fck out there old man. God forbide ya take out a guy at the right time (for once.) I ain't saying We should beat a team that is simply executing much better, but give your team a chance. Find a g damn hook. O.K., YA LEFT BILLYGOAT IN FOREVER. THAT DO ANYBODY ANY GOOD? Not like the guy can locate each time. Got blown apart early in Pittsburgh(in deep September.) Not like it's a surprise, but still you sit like you are glued down.

Surprised it took Dodger fans so long to see how badly Torre manages pitchers. He got a lot dumber when the choice was more complicated than "lefty Stanton, righty Nelson..hey Zim is it the ninth inning? We better bring in Rivera."
Don't get me wrong I love Torre for winning 4 WS with the Yankees, but he was not exactly Miller Huggins in the dugout.
