If there are no socks around - you still have many good options. They range from magazines, to toilet bowls, paper bowls or plates I haven't thrown out, to empty pringles cans (in a car, in the parking lot, junior year of high school) and on and on.

I've always preferred storing my load in a nickle or quarter roll.
