I realize you have switched your allegiances Al, but how exactly will a little rain somehow diminish the quality of the horses in the Hill Prince?

Yeah, not sure where that came from Andy since you haven't spoken to me in some time so not sure you do know how I feel about things these days. I remember you once saying you didn't want people reporting things to be pollyannas. Is that still the case?

But on the topic at hand there are supposed to be extremely heavy rains Saturday which would indicate that we will likely lose some of that field, particularly those that prefer a firm going even if they can keep it on the turf. It's a real shame if that happens because I thought it looked like the best field going from this or last weekend there. Could well skew results on the Champagne and Frizette as well. Don't like wet weekends at Belmont because it is the only place I seem to be able to do really well but the wet takes that edge away from me. Might end up just playing Longchamps this weekend and leaving it at that if the rains are that bad.

kind of sad that the 2 year old stakes didn't draw flies. 2 grade I for half a mill each and 2 grade II for 200 K and only 26 hosses entered. Avg 6.5 hosses per race. what does that say about the derby crop ? What about the racing secretary? he can't drum up some hosses to run for big money ?
