![]() He should punish that bunch, but I will say that he ran rather slow in his comeback prep - although he did it easily.....

![]() He should win but, Master of Disaster is halfway decent 3 year old
from the Steve Klesaris barn and Starcastic is undeafeated NY bred who has been off for 5 weeks and has only one workout since his last race. Cavallo Pazzo is Mt. Livermore colt going long for the first time. This race is loaded with early speed. I'm thinking I'll take a trip to Del Park on Saturday for live racing before the meet comes to close next weekend |

![]() If this was a 7f race SNS might find himself in a little trouble.
However its not- 1 1/16 mile race Master of Disaster if you look runs himself out almost right at 7f Starcastic is nice but there are alot of nice horses who run at home against no one(Who's The Cowboy) and then get demolished SNS will get a little scare tho I think but def a good race to come back in. Would have liked to see him down here at Calder running against better competiton but still a good comeback race before next year |

![]() Coming back the right way - gradually upping the company while he works into the fitness necessary to take on the big boys. I wouldn't worry if he loses this one, or the next one; conditioning is what these first few races back are about. Wasn't a big fan of this horse last spring, but at least it looks like SOME of the 3yos will be back as handicap horses.

![]() [quote=Dixie Porter]Wins in hand. Beats nothing.[/QUOTE
To call that win in hand is nuts. He was scrubbed and ridden harder than hell on the turn and in the lane until the 16th pole, only at that point did the other horse finally submit and it was only very late that he was "taken in hand". My impression is that maybe he ran him back a tad quick after his comeback race and that he may have regressed and won the race on ability and heart. I'd expect his next effort to be better, and it damn well better be if hes gonna step up and take on real horses. I hope hes patiently handled and becomes one of the great ambassadors for the sport that geldings have become. It seems as if only the geldings race on into their older years anymore and I hope SNS becomes of those kind of horses. |

![]() I agree with Mike.. Didn't like that Dominguez was asking him for run midway on the backstretch.. Saint finally did get into it though at the top of the stretch and put in a burst. Trombetta will take the appropriate time, and Ted Theos and Joe Balsalmo give him free reign to do what's right. They expect to have Saint around a good long time, and won't compromise his chance to accomplish everything he's capable of...
Mike will likely be on ATRAB tomorrow or Tuesday to talk about what's next for SNS, his strong group of 2yo fillies, and also Weigelia's less than stellar performance at Calder...

Don't know if anyone saw the walk from the paddock, but his groom Donnie really had his hands full with Saint until he gave him to the lead rider.. He's typically a "2 groom" horse..

The logical short-term goal has to be the $1 million Sunshine Millions Classic in January, where he'll likely face Lava Man and Brother Derek.....being a Florida-bred, thats where I'd point him, then I'd go to Dubai....the Donn is too close to the Sunshine Millions and Invasor will be there anyway....we'll see... He could make a quick $4.2 million in his next two starts if he were to fire big and stay in good form.....that is intriguing enough to try with a gelding when he's going good - although he may not want to see Discreet Cat and Invasor in the desert ![]() Last edited by Cunningham Racing : 11-12-2006 at 08:01 AM. |

Steve don't miscontrue my remarks to mean anything negative about this horse. I just thought perhaps he was back a little quick and that Dominguez really emptied him out yesterday. My respect and love for this horse stretches back to a december afternoon(a wednesday I believe) when he ran a hole in the wind in the first race at Laurel and got dq'd. I couldnt believe how great he had run that day. I tried to buy the friggin horse for a client twice, after his dq win, and then after his maiden win at Aqueduct. Your buddy is an outstanding trainer, and a very nice and professional guy on the phone. I just wanna see this horse last a long time as the only horses we get to root for over an extended period of time anymore are geldings. I think he has an excellent chance to win multiple grade ones next year and be aong the very elite in the handicap division. |

Hell, with Lava Man skipping the race, SNS will be the horse to beat for $1 million then....Brother Derek seems like the only real challenger of that caliber......The race will be full of Grade 3 horses like Texcess, etc.....not a tough spot for that kind of cash... So you really think that if he fires big in the Sunshine Millions and is doing well that Trombetta wouldn't take a shot at $6 million in the desert with a gelding?....That'll be tempting......that is $360,000 in his pocket if the horse were to win it...... |

After that, I say skip Dubai and go to the New Orleans Handicap. That race will not be very strong and the $500,000 purse is perfect for a gelding to go after. He could run in the Donn in between if they wanted but I would look for an easier spot in between where he can pick up some easy cash and save his best for New Orleans. |
