![]() Why is it so hard for the track sups. to keep an even maintained fair racing surface. For example: Fairplex.. Has no problem with weather. There really is no excuse for the track to be so anti inside speed. Use to be if you were the quickest in the field you had some kind of advantage. Now when you handicap a race you don't want to have a horse you may think will be on the lead on the inside.. Been a tough meet for the speed players for sure...

![]() You want a fair racing surface as long as the rail is golden?

![]() When did i say that? I just wondered why they had to have the inside deep? What is so hard about having the track even..

![]() I thinks thats the whole point. They make it deep so that its fair for the outside horses otherwise inside rail is the only place to be and the #10 post will be 50-1 every time.

![]() How is making one part of the track worse than the other fair?

I really dont think Fairplex had any significant bias on one part of the track over the other. |

![]() Obviously, I love biased tracks.
Still, a deep rail shouldn't be hard to fix -- and any track super who thinks making the inside path or paths a disadvantage is "fair" is a complete idiot and should be fired. |

![]() track bias makes for big priced winners coming off the bias. I love a bias. you know which riders are aware of it and which ones have no clue. It is really a HUGE factor. Of course when you have a bunch of sharp guys blabbing it to the masses, it doesn't help.
Quick story, Me and my brother are running this hoss at suffolk. He ain't much, but we got him as good as we're gonna get him. The track has a wicked outside bias. The kid comes out, pretty sure it was Teo Perdomo, we're in the 10 hole going a mile and 70, I grab him and say. These are you're instructions. You will be widest of all the whole race. I don't care if you're in the 20 path and we get beat 40, you WILL be widest. Just stay out there. If anybody is wider than you, i will feed you to the swans in the infield pond. Meanwhile our trainer is horrified. The kid is scared shitless. I tell them both, if you guys could handicap, you'd be betting hosses not riding them or rubbing them. So short story long, the hoss wins. He is almost in the grandstand and wins the outside wire photo. Never seen a jock so happy. we got like 11-1 too. |

![]() Nothing to do with a track bias, but here's the pretty neat headline before the 1914 Kentucky Derby:
![]() ![]() ![]() Old Rosebud went out and dismantled that Kentucky Derby field winning by 8 lengths in track record time of 2:03 4/5 Last years Breeders Cup Classic at Churchill Downs was won in freaking 2:04.27 |
