It appears that an announcement is forthcoming August 10 that Santa Anita Park will be hosting the 2012 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
Invitations to a gala event in downtown Los Angeles that were sent out Tuesday read: “Please join the Breeders’ Cup and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for a luncheon and special announcement.”
Jim Gluckson, a spokesman for the Breeders’ Cup, declined comment.
