Default Don't leave your chickens in the car in the heat!

At the local WalMart this afternoon, police and animal control officers had to rescue 12 chickens that were left in the parking lot. Inside their Dodge Neon.

The windows were only cracked a little.

Unfortunately one chicken succumbed to the heat. The other chickens are now recovering at animal control.

I have no idea why someone would have 12 adult chickens uncaged in a Dodge Neon. I can't imagine that interior was the same.

Let alone be stopping at WalMart. Everyone knows WalMart doesn't carry chicken feed.

I am not making fun of the dead or injured chickens. I love chicken (s).

maybe they left the chickens in the car to go into walmart to buy wing sauce, so by the time they got back to the car the fried chicken wings were ready to eat!

Crossed my mind ...

But suffocation by heat is a horrible way to die. Even for a bird.

The fact someone was carrying 12 adult chickens, in a car, at your 'local WalMart', speaks volumes.

The fact you're concerned with making fun of the dead and injured chickens because you love chickens, makes you crazy!

I have to ask. Was it the Muslim grad students you know? Could be cultural as their chickens are accustomed to extreme heat.

In a Neon! It must have been pretty ripe in there even before one of the chickens expired.

Or even at 4:45 approaching dinner time, in a different time zone

Wal Mart. They had a special.

Word at Tractor Supply today is that a second chicken has died at Animal Control. No word on the Neon's interior.
