Default What about temperature?

OK, obviously this is a condition common to all entrants in a race, but does anybody do anything differently when races are run in extreme cold like we are currently experiencing on the east coast?

Do sprinters do better than routers in this weather or vice versa? Just curious if anybody discovered any useful trends.

Of course when the weather is too extreme for most trainers/owners they will cancel racing because almost everyone would scratch their horses anyway.

I think horses much prefer the cold weather to the really hot weather where dehydration is a concern.
