Default Happy Ticket

Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on what I think is the best story in racing; a LA bred travelling to every major circuit in the country and burnin' up the track... I have been a Happy Ticket fan for the last year and a half and was disappointed, but not discouraged, with "my girl's" effort on Sunday. I think she is clearly the class of the filly/mare division and can't wait to see her on the first Saturday in November at Churchill...

A big fan as well. Still not sure why the connections decided to send her to California with the good money this time of the year in Saratoga, plus she is already proven at that track. Plus, with the breakdowns at DelMar I dont think I'd ship my horse there, but that is part of the game. I think she'll be very tough in the BC but I was very impressed with Spun Sugar's effort and Balletto seems to be rounding into form VERY nicely and could prove to be the best of them all. Still not ready to write off Oonagh Maccool and Summerly has room to improve. Looked nice her first time back. Should make for a great Distaff, that is for sure.

I'm a big fan and she did not disgrace herself one iota in my estimation.
She's as game as they come.

She lost to a very nice and somewhat underated girl..... I doubt she loses again this year.

I like her too.

Happy Ticket is a very game filly but mark my words, if she stays healthy Balletto will be the BC Distaff champ!

I agree, one of the few best stories in all of racing. It shows a great horse can come from anywhere with any breeding. And she ran a better race than the winner the other day. These jocks just don't appreciate how much ground loss affects a race. She ran huge.

I strongly disagree. Healthy Addiction ran a monster race. Happy Ticket had no shot against this horse on that day.

Nonsense, the pace favored Addiction and the ground loss killed Happy Ticket. Run that race 10 times, and Happy Ticket wins it 8. Bad racing luck and a terrific race by Healthy, but not unbeatable by any means on that day.

Healthy Addiction is my second favorite mare behind Balletto and she did run a monster race, but in a head to head, i'll conceed defeat to Happy Ticket 7 out of 10 tries.

Happy Ticket was only back 4 lengths early in the race. At the half pole she was only a length and a half off Healthy Addiction.

I think her best days are behind her and I caught a nice price because of that belief.

4 wide first turn, 4 wide final turn. Any guess how many lengths that is? And she was only a few back b/c the pace was so sloowww, advantage front runner. C'mon your better than this, look I'm not trying to take something away from the winner but don't tell me there was no way she winning on Sunday b/c that's moronic.

The pace wasn't that slow. Hell Happy Ticket won the Fleur De Lis and the pace was a second slower at the half and she was still over 3 lengths back.

The reality is Healthy Addiction won on Sunday and is 3 for 3 at Del Mar now. All of this best of 10 talk is for sore losers.

Balletto, in my opinion, is dying to run on two-turn tracks. She would be best served if they sent her to Keeneland for the Spinster as a prep for CD instead of racing her at Belmont.
