He went from 5/2 to 3-1. It happens in every race. Big deal.

What's your beef once the race starts an extra tick takes the odds up to 3-1 from 5/2. This happens all the time. Most of the time players are bitvhing because they lose a buck or two on the payout but the same is true when odds actually go up until the tote catches up. No biggie..

Great minds think alike......with the late stop out for wagering at Hollywood last weekend everybody has their own conspiracy thing going on.....I'm not sure what went on at Penn National last night but there was a lot of buzz in the weeds today...

It is very common and I think it because all of the various pools from simulcasting aren't actually comongled until the race starts. If I recall correctly the odds only "change" during the running of a race when a horse changes position then it will update. If the horses stay in the same order throughout the race you wouldn't see a change. I think I remember hearing something to that effect on Steve's show.

The 'force' (flushing of system to bring in all monies from the system) happens 10 seconds after the gates open. Most video graphics packages ONLY reflect that final full pool with the first change of the running order AFTER that flush.

Many times you can be 25 seconds into a race and the running order and odds are reflected thusly:

3 (4-1)
7 (18-1)
4 (6-1)
1 (2-1)

If the running order doesn't change, the odds will stay that way. If there's a change in running order, the graphics packages will then reflect the final odds.. for example:

1 (9-5)
3 (7-2)
7 (19-1)
4 (7-1)
