He split horses when he could, in fact it could be argued he should have stayed clear on the outside rather then save the extra ground.

Smith gave a great ride today. Why the hell would they take him off ? I highly doubt that Wooley will go back to Borel if RA doesnt go in Belmont.

I don't think he did anything wrong, can't blame him for the traffic problems at the turn.

Smith rode a great race today. While he looked predictably disappointed, Woolley will be really pleased with what the gelding and Smith did today...

Gomez will likely end up on Dunkirk in the Belmont if Pletcher sticks to that plan.

I think there is a much better chance that the filly runs then MTB, once you lose the preakness the belmont seems to be an afterthought, see steet sense.

Perhaps they will both pass it and we will be back where we started.

It wasn't necessarily an afterthought... Nafzger called his mentor John Nerud after the Preakness loss and asked John if should run in the Belmont. Nerud asked him what he wanted as a target the rest of the year. Nafzger's goal once the Triple Crown was unattainable was the Travers and Breeders' Cup Classic. Nerud told him to skip the Belmont in that case.

There is no way MTB doesn't run in the Belmont.

I think that there's a better chance that you see MTB in the Belmont than Rachel Alexandra.

RA won't go to the Belmont. I am fairly confident she wont be there.
So does Calvin get the mount back? Had MTB gone inside could he have caught RA today? If you think so you have to wonder if they want Calvin back...

How the heck was he getting inside today? Is there like a magic word that tells everyone from the 3/8ths to get out of the way?
