Considering that those rats in the 6th ran a very ratlike time of 1:14.26, it doesn't appear that the track has sped up dramatically. There isn't a huge sample size, but Mint Lane's figure seems legit, IMO.

It's hard to disagree. It's in the mid 100s ( 102 to 106 ).

Jimmy Jerkens's horses are certainly running very well.

What would that give Unbridled's Heart then? Low 90's? Maybe he just got smacked by a horse that's better than people thought and will prove to be very good as well.

Bottom line is we're looking at the worst crop of 3 year old colts in the history of the sport.

I'm confused by Mint Lane. I guess it's about 1.8 points a length so Unbridled's Heart ran 11 or 12 points slower.

It will be interesting to see how Mint Lane runs if he ever actually gets challenged for the early lead but he has to be better than I thought he was.

It almost looked like they rated UH back out of the gate. Like they wanted to get him to settle and drive on, except that Mint Lane didn't do any slowing down.
Haven't looked at the replays again to determine if UH broke poorly or was rated back.

casino drive is a super horse... i have been saying that for days man

Disappointing effort by U's Heart. . . I was at Belmont today but decided to leave before his race . . . glad I didn't miss anything.

The fig doesn't matter that much. It was only his second career race and he lost a race where he did not get a good trip and the winner who is a good horse had a dream trip. Mint Lane created his own trip but he's much more experienced than Unbridled's Heart. I think Unbridled's Heart will improve off this race. The Dwyer looks like a good race to make is his start unless they decide to run in a non winners of 1. If he improves and runs a good race, he can run in the Jim Dandy and the Travers.

Good call on Admirality JSC.

He crushed my longshot, and ran a pretty nice race.

Unbridled's Heart ran with front wraps today....maybe had something to do with his poor showing maybe it didn't....he could be just another fragile Unbridled's Song...

It was a tough card at Belmont IMO. I maybe noticed one value play through the first 7 races (Serpe/channing hill? turf race)
