Yeah, there were a ton of Point Givens in this year's Derby.

What do you guys expect Big Brown to go off at The Preakness? 3/5, 2/5, less?

I can't see any reason why I'd run back in the Preakness.

He's gonna be even money at best (not likely) and 1/9 at worst (more likely).

Mark my words, DWL will run some maiden or a horse eligible for a NX1 in the Preakness.

Anyone know why Hey Byrn is listed as a possible for the Preakness? Have they decided to go to the Ohio Derby instead?

With the current prospective field, I'd say 2/5. If Harlem Rocker doesn't go, 1/5.

A few TC runner notes..

In addition to Kentucky Bear, whose workout last week was sensational, Tres Borrachos and Stevil have been at Churchill preparing for Preakness, and you already have El Gato Malo and Behindatthebar. Locally in MD, Gattopardo is a Preakness possible too, with Giant Moon from Rick Schosberg, Harlem Rocker and Yankee Bravo all interested parties.

David Carroll told me yesterday evening that Denis of Cork will head for the Belmont. The long term goal is the Travers. Tale of Ekati is Belmont-intended too.

Forgot about him.. Roussel said maybe. He ran a very nice race considering how badly Baird was hurt in the tunnel incident...

This is the first I've heard about the tunnel incident, can you fill me in?

'Return' freaked in the tunnel from the Paddock to the track. That's why there was the delay before 18, 19, 20 exited the tunnel and came onto the track.

He reered up and Baird came off landing square on his back. He was in agony getting back on and Roussell said he was hurting badly.

Wouldn't it be something if Big Brown draws post 13 or 14 if a full field.

As someone who will be rooting against him - i'd rather see him draw inside. . . he's already proven he can win with an outside post. . .

He would make history again from those posts...no winner from either.
