You're just mad because you have to find a new NFL team to root for now.

He robbed Peyton of the Heisman too BTW.

If you loved your old man so much, you would bet the Chargers moneyline for him.

Stop talking to him, he needs to concentrate on getting the GP 7-9 pick 3 up on his blog and he's running out of time.

Yeah ... Manning sure proved how outstanding he was in college when he played mediocre ball as a rookie and Tee Martin won the National Championship for Tennessee the following year. You know ... national championship .. the title Peyton couldn't sniff.

Meanwhile Moss was the only major addition to the '98 Vikings ... a team that finished in 3rd place with a 9-7 record in the NFC "Norris Division" was single handedly transformed into a 15-1 team that shattered the NFL's all-time record for points scored in a season. Moss broke a slew of rookie records that still stand today.

But yeah ... snow shoes Manning was robbed because he eventually developed into a mind-bogglingly awesome NFL qb.

Nevermind that none of the Moss Marshall games were even broadcast on national tv ... ESPN didn't even show the highlights of Marshall's football games on Sportscenter 99% of the time.

It's not so much the huge bias against sophomores and wide recievers that existed .. it's the simple fact that almost no one could justify casting a vote for Moss because they couldn't even see his teams highlights.

Manning had to develop. Moss didn't. He was the most highly regarded high school athlete of my lifetime.

You really think that Moss is going to be forgotten? Ever?

In a thread about Revis being the best thing and getting "robbed" of any award by a guy who statistically wiped the floor with him? That's kind of rich.

yeah he statistically wiped the floor with him. That's kinda easy to do when you don't actually have to cover anyone and you go for the ball every play instead of trying to tackle someone, while the other guy is so goddam good that he causes incompletions on 63% of the passes thrown his way and never needs to be sent at the quarterback. Free safeties get more tackles and INTs than D-Linemen, does that make them better defenders? I don't ever recall Reggie White or Bruce Smith getting attacked for only "doing one thing" yet Revis is docked points for not being needed to roam like Woodson? Go ahead again and look at the receivers Revis faced. He fu cking dominated everyone he played and he was by far the biggest reason for the Jets having by far the best pass defense in the NFL. But I guess allowing your defense to send a billion people at the QB thus creating the league's best pass defense and shutting down half of the field doesn't mean as much as "stats." Well here you go: QBs had a 32.3 rating when they threw at Revis. Woodson is third at 51.8. Revis broke up almost three times as many passes as Woodson. Woodson gave up 5 TDs to Revis's 2 (one was on a 4-yard slant that no one could've defended). Woodson was penalized twice as much as Revis. Give me a fu cking break. We saw what Woodson is about in that Cardinal game. He falls down on one TD, gets blown up by Fitzgerald on another and then gives up 15 yards of crucial field position in the final seconds by stripping instead of tackling. While Revis routinely eliminates the QB's binkie, creating a ripple effect in the opponent's pass offense. Oh and he owns Moss. Owns him. Take that "statistically wiped the floor" sh it somewhere else. Revis may have had the best season a CB has ever had while Woodson does what he always does: makes a highlight or gets burned. Woodson had a good year, Revis had a great one.

I wonder if this is how people who think either Rachel or Zenyatta could win HOY without having a real opinion feel when someone goes off the deep end about why one or the other is far superior and feel the need to disparage the other one despite the fact that they had a sensational season?

Shutdown corner against whom you can make a plan B once he takes away your top receiver vs. sensational defensive all-arounder for whom you can't make a plan B.

It was a toss up. You lost.

Game over. Woodson won.

A player who never makes a mistake and shuts down half the field vs. a player who will make an important play once in a while but will blow important plays as well.

Why was it a toss up if Woodson "wiped the floor" with Revis statistically?

Oh god, sorry for the double post, but your homerism is showing.

I will remember this in case the term "falls down" comes up again in any of our interactions, I will automatically edit it to "gets pummeled by Larry Fitzgerald" in one of the most flagrant and important non-calls of the season.

A bulldozer could make Woodson "fall down" right there too, it wouldn't make him a bad corner.

Christ.

Because, is the defensive player of the year the one who is the best shutdown corner or the one who is the best overall player for the year?

See, that's why I'm in the Rachel camp in the HOY debate, and it's strangely apt here, since you're basically saying that being awesome at one thing (beating boys in the Classic) should trump being a terror in everything defensively (being a terror all year long).

That's why it's a toss-up. You care about a guy playing in New York being the best shutdown corner in the league. I don't particularly care for whom you root when trying to figure out which guy I think is deserving. I see the argument for both, but your absolutism is so off-putting I'm learning to love Woodson and his Packer Green all over again...and by all over again, I mean for the very first time, I since I kind of hate him considering he's on the Packers.
