I have to thank the Nebraska Racing Commission and Fonner Park for helping, Doug the racing secretary and his assistant Wayne were the key to all this coming together.

Back up plan is to see what happens at the end of the race - if he gets claimed, wins, gets injured... so many variables affect the next move. By the time this is done I'm going to have spent more than it would have cost me to claim him in his last race at Golden Gate Fields... the things we do for horses!

UPDATE: From the Chart Footnotes, the horse, Nopie, stumbled at the start, pulled up lame on the far turn and was vanned off.

I have someone who is now becoming a very dear friend working very hard to get more information on Nopie's status. The trainer is not answering his phone and his voicemail is full. Please hope for the best.

I'll keep you updated as I find out more.

Gawd, what a day! I was in TEARS thinking our Nopie was gonna have to be put down. And now I think I should have a bottle of champagne chilled for when my dear Derbycat gets home....
