Yes he was a bit of an exception but the history of the Belmont is that closers get compromised. That's how horses like Commendable can win it.

I bet Tiago and lost. However I do think he ran a decent race. Mike tried to follow Calvin on the rail and got shut off. SS was moving much faster but Tiago never stopped trying. Kept coming every time his path had to be altered. One of the few who was still coming at the end.However NO ONE was going to beat SS or Hard Spun yesterday. Pedigree says he'll get better with age, especially 4 and 5. I'm not sure I'd run him in the belmont but I do feel he'll be a good horse later on. If SS wins the Preakness, I'll be cheering for him to win the TC.
