![]() Just my view, but Poly isn't "penalizing horses for being fast", its simply making them use their speed differently. Instead of blazing early fractions there are now blazing late fractions. Beyer complains that no speed horses can win at Keeneland while failing to point out that Keeneland's dirt course was in an opposite sense extremely unfair to closers or even stalkers most of the time and had a ridiculous rail bias in which many lesser "speed horses" beat more talented horses who happened to be closers.
Of course, I'm not a bettor really, just a fan, and it doesn't hurt my pocketbook one way or the other. So my two cents is just that...two cents. |
