we'll know this evening. 7 my time.
if lsu goes to pasadena, they'll be the first sec team in 60 years to go. 'bama went in 46. over 36k tickets have been bought by lsu fans who think they're cal-bound. and i type all this while drinking coffee from my purple and gold cup.... oh, and arkansas (god rot them) may go to the outback, to meet penn state. go nittany lions. i grew up in md, so always pulled for penn. adopted lsu when i moved down here 12 years ago. speaking of penn st, my youngest asked who would coach when joe paterno retires. i stared at him like he was sprouting a second head!! lol well, geez eric, i don't know i told him. joe's been there my entire life. now THAT will be odd when he isn't there anymore.

IT IS SO AWESOME THAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT, just keeps people complaining and bitching about the playoff and WE FINALLY MIGHT SEE IT soon.
It would be awesome for them to just do it this year, make a judgement call and say "You know what, I am picking 8 teams, and you guys are actually going to PLAY to win the National Title, instead of automatically being handed a 50% chance (natural odds) to win the stupid thing" |

there absolutely should be a playoff... adding a game to the schedule and losing the bye week certainly put a wrinkle in their fabric of 'can't mess with these guys education, playing too many would hinder the students'. take the winners of each conference and play them off. of course that system would keep top teams out, such as michigan and lsu. perhaps a few 'wild card' teams.
there is no perfect system. but the bcs system is so incredibly flawed.. at least a playoff would put the teams in complete charge of their destiny. look at lsu yesterday, they move up and didn't even play.
