SA is replacing the current "store bought dirt" surface (I think the base is staying?) with a naturally-mined dirt surface. Something like that.

Apparently when they were shopping for dirt a couple years ago they had to buy commercially available product. Now they were able to find a locally-occurring, natural dirt mix from part of the LAX refurb project, I think. Either that or a subway project. I think it's called El Segundo dirt.

Somewhere there's an article that describes it better than this.

Here I thought the dirt had been working out very well for them...spend money to spend money I guess.
