Am I the only one that found Ortiz' ride on Gem City Gal suspicious?

He needs to be called in to explain what clearly looked like a stiff job.

I have to watch it again, but he sure drifted into the lane and opened the rail. Maybe he was trying to carry the #8 wide, but Ortiz has got to be aware of the rail runner.

It is not just the drifting and the opening of the rail that makes it suspicious. He never tries to ride the horse, he is just sitting still while the riders of the 5 and 7 are clearly pushing their horses. He never goes to the whip.

I honestly don't believe that many races are fixed, but when I see a complete non-effort by a jock like that it has to be questioned.

Bel 9

Wide open race. Unless they all grab, this race should set up for a closer. Think the 1 should be that horse and the price is right.

$20W 1
$20DD 1/7,9

What happened to the speed of the 2? The 3? The 9? The 11?

Incredible.

I thought the same thing, didn't look at the race but saw u bet the 4 so was mainly watching him. Right after the race I looked to see who was riding. He didn't move once on him.

Maggie Wolfendale (who also questioned the ride) tweeted that Ortiz told the connections that she was getting out. However that begs the questions of why he didn't give her a right handed whip to get her to straighten out or even an ounce of effort to ride her.
