yeah, arkansans depend upon mississippi to keep us from being the worst....oops.

it's a great sign that teen birth rates are down, i saw an article several months ago that showed all birth rates are lower, not just for teens. they said that it seemed better education and availability of birth control was the main reason.
and the south has the highest number of churches per capita....but all that abstinence based, cause god says so sex 'ed' isn't working.
keeping sex ed out is like keeping many counties here dry-the teens just have unprotected sex while buying booze from the bootlegger, who already is breaking laws and doesn't care about breaking the drinking age rule.

I just don't understand why we're still not willing to accept that a lot of teens are going to have sex, and that most people are going to have sex out of wedlock at some point, and even those having it mostly in wedlock are not going to want to get pregnant a lot of that time. Once people are out of school, what, the facts about sexual health magically appear in their heads? Good grief. It's not just about educating teens; it's about educating future grownups.

My brother is raising his family in Nashville. I made fun of him pressuring my sister-in-law to homeschool their kids, but if this is typical school-assembly material, I think the kids might get a better education at home.
