I wasn't aware of this until reading the Blood Horse's article on Seeking the Gold, but Jazil's little sister made her debut at Churchill Downs the same day big bro won the Belmont. The race was 5 1/2 furlongs - she broke slowly and went about 7 wide (per the charts), closing steadily through the lane. The winner is a nice filly who won by 6 in fast time. However, for Rags to Riches, this seems to be perfect first start - just a nice tuneup for longer races. She's by AP Indy and trained by Todd Pletcher - this filly by a Belmont winner who is a 1/2 to a Belmont winner should thrive as the summer progesses into the fall. She could be a good one -at least I hope so!

Betsy I saw this race and Rags to Riches broke very poorly and still managed to get a piece. No way was she beating the winner that day. Rags To Riches is a horse that I have in my stable. She had a very good debut.
