I think they suspended production while shooting the 2nd episode. Believe there's only one in the can.

I still think this show could go on without the racing parts. Like Calzone said, they could just go thru clips and pick out what they need.

Further evidence of the PETA/AHA turf war. This woman's a comedian involved with PETA, but takes care not to mention it. There's a woman in the comments named Liz O'Connell who says the following:
Quote:
As a professional horsewoman, I did not like nor approve of the racing scenes in "Luck". In the ones that I watched, I could see the horses being pulled around by their open mouths, their heads were up and backs inverted, horses don't run this way -- on the track or in nature. Nothing beautiful there. They were crudely choreographed. I was uncomfortable watching those scenes, knowing the horses were off-balance and could not understand why that kind of action was permitted during filming.

On the other-hand, Horse You See, a short film entered in 2012 PBS Online Film Festival is an antidote to AHA-sanctioned programming. I talk it about in my post "The Pure Essence of a Horse" on the Huffington Post -- the Navajo language with English subtitles, the star Ross the horse-poet, his human and the background birdsong. All bring a gentle mindfulness as we watch and listen to Ross explain "This is how we who are horses, know ourselves." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/liz-o/...b_1382749.html.
Thoughts?

when i read the article the other day about the animal rights group up in arms about the florida marlins fish tank, i figured i knew all i ever wanted or needed to know about peta and their ilk.

you see, the fish, regardless of quality of care, would still feel 'vibrations' because of their proximity to the fans at games. so, even tho the glass is as 'baseball' proof as it can be, the fish will still suffer undue harm.

Meanwhile Peta kills 95% of the animals it takes in. I guess they decided keeping their
low life execs in mid six figure salaries was more important.

Just saw episode 1 at my sister's place (she has HBO). I'm liking it. Are we at all sure that HBO will release this on DVD? I will pick it up if they do.

Really good synopsis/review of the final episode. Not sure if it's been posted before. Can't hyperlink at work but this should get you close enough to get there.
