Yep. Only thing I can think of is that the figure maker accidently took the final time and applied it to 8.5 furlongs instead of 8f and 70 yards.

I've made mistakes like this before.

I'm guessing 69 instead of 89, just a typo when entering the number. Surely they have things like you mention automated by now.

You're right. It wouldn't add up if they used 8.5f.
