I'm almost begging for a rematch between Bama and LSU and Bama winning just so I can hear all of the LSU fans cry about how it's not fair that they split and how LSU won in Bama and had to play in the conference title game. I still do not understand why LSU would have to beat Bama twice to be champion but Bama only has to beat LSU once. Makes zero sense to me.

Which is why a playoff set up is a no brainer except to the NCAA

I have a feeling that if LSU beats Georgia, they are going to get a share of the title no matter what happens in the title game. The AP voters aren't contractually obligated to vote for Bama if they win the title game like the coaches are. I think they'd vote LSU due to the strength of their whole season and beating Bama in Bama.

this was the year when the gates finally were opened completely for Boise State to play for it, yet just like last year they missed a very short field goal against their only tough conference foe. Wouldn't have made the game last year, but certainly would have this year. OH well. I think LSU and Alabama are the two best teams without question, and I'm not sure why anyone would vote LSU number 1 if Bama beats them. It's not like the win by LSU was overwhelming by any stretch and if memory serves me, it was simply Alabama got a Boise State like field goal kicking performance which is why LSU won the game.

I dont really want to see the rematch, but there is no possible way I want to see OK St vs LSU. OK ST loss was a lot worst then Bamas and I think Bama would be 14 point or more favorite vs OK ST right now. Hopefully Oklahoma beats them and we dont have to worry about it.

Are you sure why anyone would vote Bama #1? Wouldn't they have split this year with LSU going into Bama's home field and beating them? How would Bama deserve it more? Maybe if Bama goes out and wins 27-7 or something. But a close win would tell me that the teams are just about equal and a split of the title would be appropriate.

One things for sure, if we beat Oregon, beat Bama twice, beat Arkansas, beat Georgia, go undefeated, then we will be the undefeated, undisputed, national and BCS champs this year. Any other scenario leaves some room for speculation. I would forewarn GA and Bama that Les still has at least a couple dozen crazy ass plays he has been waiting to use all year.

...No, not really. It seems there is some denial about who the best two teams are in the country, and it is very clear. Now, we all know the system sucks. A playoff is the only thing that will fix it. What will be said when 4 of the final 8 teams left in the "playoffs" are from the SEC? It probably will happen more than not.

OK ST is garbage, omg. Im so sick of hearing about them, they get beat as a 30 point favorite, recently. Why are we even talking about them? I would rather see Va Tech vs LSU then OK ST.

Also, bet you dollars to doughnuts that if LSU wins this weekend and Okie State figures out a way to really play strong against OU that the voters figure out a way to tighten up the divide between Ok State and Alabama. Maybe not enough to avoid the rematch like 2006 and 2007, but a lot closer than one would think.

Alabama is absolutely a great team, but their actual body of work just doesn't match up with Oklahoma State this year in terms of quality of opponents.

Ok State lost to Iowa State. Bama lost to LSU.

Alabama beat Penn State 27-11, Wisconsin beat Penn State 45-7 when everything was on the line for Penn State. Is WI better than Alabama? Most likely not but we will never know because they won't play each other.

Kind of like Heisman voting. Montee Ball has a 6.5 yrds/carry average, 29 rushing TD's, and 5 Receiving TD's. Richardson has a 6.0 yrds/carry, 20 rushing TD's and 3 receiving Td's. Montee Ball isn't even in the Heisman conversation outside of WI, however Richardson could win it.

Look at the NFL some people would have argued last year that the best team didn't win since the Packers won as a sixth seed barely getting in. The packers roster is only slightly changed from last year and does anyone doubt that they are the best team right now in the NFL? So were they the best team last year as well and just played a few bad games throughout the regular season? Could that change at any time? yes. Will they be the best team by the end of the year is yet to be determined and will be determined in imagine that "the playoffs".

Unless there is only 1 undefeated team at the end of the year the national championship is a joke and will be solely about the $ and not actually determining a true champion
