I don't see that in the source I gave. Cut and paste the applicable paragraph, and web link, please.
The myth of the "welfare queen" ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welfare_queen
Rick Scott, president of a medical services company who had to
pay 1.7 billion in fraud and damages for Medicare fraud, was somehow then elected Governor of Florida, a state filled with Medicare recipients.
Go figure that one, huh?
One of the first things Scott does, is accuse "welfare queens" of being drug addicts (even though we're in a recession and we have the highest unemployment since the depression), and he orders that anyone applying for assistance has to take and pay for their own drug test. Oh - by the way, his company of Florida clinics specializes in doing drug tests (he put that company in his wife's name when he was elected Governor).
The result? Less than 2% of assistance seekers even turn up positive for drugs, Florida is now out multiple thousands per month to pay for the unneeded drug tests (out of a decreased state budget to start with), Gov. Rick Scott's drug testing clinics are making thousands a month - until a Federal Judge puts a kabosh on the whole damn
scam by pointing out there is
no evidence "welfare recipients are drug abusers".
And people wonder why Occupy Wall Street exists.
