![]() I generally use crack, heroin, crystal meth, EPO, elephant juice and LSD when rehabing my horses. And I found that marijuana mixed with hay is great to stimulate their appetites.

![]() I presume ice boxes and magic shoes are in the offing for most laid-up horses.

![]() Everyone talks about growing the sport and attracting new people. Riot is the only that takes this seriously. He tried to give me the info. The rest of you including Chuck, the great trainer, talk down to me and make it look like I dont belong in here. I try to respect any and all in here. I am not any kind of insider but I do enjoy the sport. Im sorry for intruding in this good ole boy club. Thank you riot for the info and not making fun of me.

![]() I spent over 30 years as a firefighter here in Dallas and I can tell you a few things about cheating death. You want to be a smart arse and then call time out and want to be considerate.

So since you obviously aren't having fun here I will attempt to answer your question is less than 2000 words. Very few drugs are "no-no's" or illegal to use on horses in general. There is a misconception that there is this huge number of illicit drugs that are used on horses to turn them into superhorses. The truth is that most positive tests are for medications that are not only legal to use but beneficial to the health of the horse. Anabolic steroids would fall into this catagory and can no longer be used within 45-60 or less days before a race. It is not illegal to use steroids rehabing or otherwise as long as when tested post race the level found is less than the level allowed. From the tone of your initial post it would seem that you are on the right side of the medication argument as use of modern medicine as long as it is within the rules is the best way to approach issues. Of course the problem is those who are living in fantasy land want to rearrange the rules based on bogus information, have a desire to return to the 60's (1960's CL) and believe unfounded theories and deny horses the help that they need as living breathing creatures. Is that what you were looking for originally? |
