That is why I made the Northerner comment. No one likes when people assume things based on a few people they meet that everyone is like that.
By the way, prices in Marion and Alachua counties are BOOMING right now. My parents home increased in value by 20% in a few months. No way is that the cheapest place to buy homes and land.
